First you will want the table so you aren’t working on the ground
so if need be you can get a ground angle. Then you can either cover it with
cloth or paper, I used a fluffy blanket because I can. Then for the back ground
white butcher paper taped to your wall is fine. You will want to make sure
there is room between the paper and the table so your flashes don’t over light
your subject. Finally for the lights you are going to want 3-4 flashes to
achieve the solid white you are wanting plus light up the product.
Now I used two flashes on either side of the paper to make
the paper white you can also play with using just one and placing it just out
of view against the wall so the flash is pointing straight up this will give
you a smaller area to work with but it also reduces the number of flashes you
need to use. Then I had two flashes with umbrellas one on either side of me to
create even lighting which is what most people are looking for in a product to
buy online.
Next you place your object on the table and shoot! It’s as
simple as that! You might have to adjust your back lights a little so you don’t
have spillage on the object, if you have spillage either angle your flashes
more towards the wall or move the table further away. Also be wary of having
any kind of glare if you have anything glass you may need to readjust your
lights or where you are standing to achieve that. Now you can go take a picture
of that old VCR player that you have been wanting to sell for ages and make it
one of the most professional looking VCR players on eBay!
